Our Siberians
The Siberian cat is still a very young breed that has a lot where to spread and become more popular. So far is still not that common to find Siberians at shows in many countries. Hopefully this will change soon cause it seems that the trend is that more and more breeders get interested in the breed. In a still young breed like this, there is a lot of work to do when thinking in keeping certain type. This is why would be advisable to stablish certain type and keep some Siberian characteristics in the lines, before thinking about further goals. Is great to hear how cat fanciers are able to recognize at shows, other older and better known cat breeds like Norwegian Forest Cats or Maine Coons; by keeping certain siberian look, type and expresion, we hope that soon also Siberians can be as well recognized after sometime.
We are breeding under the FIFe original standard, where is told that regarding the eye color *preference is given to green* and where also is mentioned that *all colours are acceptable except pointed patterns and the varieties chocolate, cinnamon, lilac, fawn*.
Siberians are a very friendly companions that will always be interested in everything you are doing: they like to follow you everywhere and take good care of what is going on. They won´t miss a thing. This is not the typical independient cat. Siberians do need therefore even more your attention :-)

Nuestros Siberianos
El gato Siberiano es todavia una raza poco conocida pero que con el tiempo esperamos se haga cada vez mas presente y popular en el panorama felino. El gato Siberiano fue reconocido por FIFe (Federacion Internacional Felina) solo en el año 1998. Es por ello que en la actualidad es aun poco frecuente encontrar Siberianos en las exposiciones de muchos paises; sin embargo cada vez son mas los criadores interesados en la raza por lo que todo nos lleva a pensar que en unos años la situacion sea muy diferente. En una raza todavia joven en la que por tanto es importante establecer primeramente un tipo y en definitiva un gato Siberiano que se acerque con exactitud al standard de raza. Es por ello por lo que es mas recomendable fijar las caracteristicas clave de la raza en las lineas, antes de pensar en otras metas. Es siempre agradable el ver como los aficionados a los gatos son cada vez mas capaces de reconocer en las exposiciones, a otras razas mas conocidas y frecuentes, como son los Bosques de Noruega o los Maine Coons; fijando cierto tipo y expresion tipica de los gato Siberianos, esperamos que pronto la raza sea tambien tan facilmente reconocida como las mencionadas.
Criamos siguiendo el standard y las normas FIFe, donde se dice que *todos los colores son aceptables excepto el patron colorpoint y las variedades de color chocolate, cinamon, lilac o fawn*
Los Siberianos son compañeros muy amigables que siempre estarán interesados en todo lo que hagas; les gusta seguirte a todas partes y enterarse bien de todo lo que pasa. No se perderan nada. Este no es el tipico gato independiente, por lo que los gatos Siberianos necesitarán aun mas tu atención.

Tina is a very sweet Siberian lady that has always been a quiet and relaxed cat. She comes from Siberian Star cattery in Prague. Tina is the first FIFe registered Siberian in Spain. You can meet her mother Zinaida, at the Siberian Star cattery and her father Odysseus Valenvic, at Country cat cattery also living in the Czech Republik.

Agatha and her sister Athenea come from our first Siberian litter born in Febreury 2005. You can visit their kitten photos at our kittens pages. Agatha has a very warm brown tabby color and she was the only kitten in our A litter to keep dad´s nice long tufts. Something that we would like to keep in the lines, as much as possible.

Hey, actually we are not using Aksa as his nickname anymore; Aksamit Sibaris is now aka Mitka. Mitka comes from Sibaris cattery in Moscow, Russia. Even if he is a very sweet kitten that also needs to have some siestadreams from time to time, we cannot say that he is quiet and relaxed. He is actually a very active and sociable kitten that is always showing all his possibilities as jumper, juggler and detective. :-) You can meet Mitka parents Vesta Valenvic and Khariton Angara at Sibaris cattery.
