What we have - we don't preserve

Cats lack of race prejudice, and don’t follow any selection rules. That is how Siberians accepted into their group multiplied offspring of Siamese cats, which were brought by a famous puppet artist and animal protector Sergey Alexandrovich Obraztsov (in the end of 60es). Two generations later, stunningly beautiful kittens started to appear; their colours were characteristic neither for Russia, nor for Siberia. But in general, they inherited all qualities of Siberians. They appeared by themselves, without a purposeful paring and selection. Mother Nature was guiding their sympathies, and we only had to agree with them. To separate those animals into another breed because of their colour turned out to be inexpedient. International experience proves this situation. For example, separating of colour-point Persians into Himalayan breed failed. They are judged in different colours, but it’s the same breed.

We called Siberian colour-points – Neva Masquerade, storing our admiration of their garments into our words. Leningrad’s cat club “Kotofey” noticed them first, picked them out and received first generation of kittens. It was hard to pick up first producers because there were many of them. Among Leningrad’s population, significant contribution was made by male Mars SIN N 2133 and his multiple offspring. Moscow also had many excellent first cats, which were certified as Siberians according to their phenotype and entered selection fond of Neva Masquerade cats – Siberian Colour-Points.
